Developing film!
There’s probably numerous ways to get the final print, but this works for me:
Using the zone system when you’re photographing and developing the film. (This applies to b&w negative film)
If you have a scene with a span of 5 stops you’re all good and can use normal time, but if the scene exceeds/have less than 5 stops, you might consider shortening/adding your development time.
You meter the brightest and the darkest part of a scene, if the metering shows a span of 6 stops from the brightest to the darkest part, you should consider shortening the development time by 1 stop, or N-1.

September
We are well into September now and the weather has taken a decidedly nice turn, the temperature has started to cool and a little more rain falls. I hope that as the leaves turn those delicious colors of red , yellow and brown. You will spend some more time shooting beautiful images to share with us all.
For those who are still attending college , I hope that you are going to enjoy the looming fall break that will be here soon and even more importantly I hope that graduation is near.
Happy Fall everyone !!
Spring is upon us !!
Hello fellow creative Deviant sorts ;
Spring has arrived finally , the trees are bearing a new coat of leaves and the grass is green after a long winter's nap. There is life everywhere and the birds are singing.. I want to encourage everyone to get out and try to find that scene that depicts Spring and capture it.
Memorial Day.
I felt I needed to say a word about Memorial Day and remembrance for what its true meaning is. It seems that over time most Americans think Memorial Day is the day when they get a paid Monday off from work, so they can BBQ, go swimming and engage in other means of merriment. The true intent behind Memorial Day is to remember those who have fallen in the service of our nation and helped to keep us free. The holiday traces its roots back to the end of the Civil War. On 5 May 1868 General John Logan, National Commander of the Grand Army Of The Republic made a proclamation in his general order #11 proclaiming the first celebration of the holiday
